At around 5pm Metro Manila time, Sam Smith posted on Facebook saying his May 10 Manila show isn’t pushing through for health reasons.
I’ve been to the doctors today and although my 4 days of vocal rest has definitely helped, I still have some serious issues with my vocal cords…I am having to fly to the USA to see a specialist there and as a result need to reschedule the shows to later this year,” his note begins.
His show at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, which is part of the ‘In the Lonely Hour’ tour, quickly sold out in minutes after tickets were released on December 16, 2014.
Coconuts Manila called SM Tickets and the representative who answered the phone said ticket refunds aren’t offered as the show is merely postponed. Representatives of MCA Universal in the Philippines, Sam Smith’s recording label, say the show could push through within the year.
