BIR to X Factor Israel winner Rose Fostanes: Pay your tax for your cash prize

Somebody’s working hard for the money.

“Although she may have ironed out her working visa problem in Israel, the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) is keen on taxing Pinay caregiver Rose ‘Osang’ Fostanes based on the cash prize she received from winning the X Factor Israel,” reports ABS-CBNnews.com.

BIR Commissioner Kim Henares explained that “as caregiver, Fostanes is exempted from paying tax if she is registered OFW at the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA).” However, that rule doesn’t apply to the prize money she won in the singing tilt.

Henares went on to say that Fostanes “can fix the problem if she pays her taxes in Israel.” “Ideklara din niya kung magkano ibinayad niya sa Israel at bigay niya sa amin yung documentation (She should declare how much was given to her and then provide us with the documentation),” Henares stated.

Fostanes is the first season winner of X Factor Israel. The report said that “she declined to reveal the prizes she won from winning in the show in previous interviews, but added that it included a record contract.”
