“Why should you be the next Miss Universe?”
That’s the final question asked Miss USA, Miss Colombia, and Miss Philippines.
Miss Colombia and Miss Philippines wore headphones as Miss USA took the stage first. She gave a very Taylor Swift answer, IMHO. Its gist: “I am passionate and driven and it is my goal to inspire everybody in the world to be themselves. I want to be an inspiration for every girl in the world.”
Miss Colombia came next, heralding her country’s rich Miss Universe history. Speaking through an interpreter, Miss Colombia answer, in a gist: “I should be the third Miss Universe for my country because I have all the attributes of that woman. I have all the attibutes of a Miss Universe.”
Miss Philippines is the only candidate who answered with a specific platform: “To be a Miss Universe is both an honor and a responsibility. I want to use my voice to influence the youth and raise awareness about certain causes like HIV, which is very relevant to my country. I am confidently beautiful with a heart.”
