“Wanna be on top?” These women do.
Ahead of the premiere of its sixth cycle (that means “season” to Top Model noobs), reality show (and popular guilty pleasure) Asia’s Next Top Model (AsNTM) officially announced today the 14 contestants who will battle it out to be, er, Asia’s next top model.
“MODEL REVEAL. Meet the official contestants of Asia’s Next Top Model Cycle 6,” the post’s caption reads.
This year, the two women who will be representing the Philippines are Adela Marshall and Jach Manere, both of whom have already been working as professional models locally.
Though AsNTM‘s Facebook post didn’t really give much information about the women, they did include taglines for each of them — you know, as any proper reality show does — and based on those alone, it looks like the two Pinays have totally different personalities.
20-year-old Marshall is described as “Innocent but Determined” while the 21-year-old Manere is called “Quirky, Carefree and a Perfectionist.”
Other contestants include aspiring international models from Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Taiwan, Myanmar, and Hong Kong.
Last cycle, the Philippines’ representative Maureen Wroblewitz was named Asia’s next top model and became the first Filipino to win the competition.
For those who aren’t in on the Top Model fandom, AsNTM is the Asian version of the hit American TV show America’s Next Top Model (ANTM) which was created — and for a long time hosted — by model Tyra Banks.
AsNTM‘s Cycle 6 wil be aired on Fox Life, the rebranded Star World where its first five cycles also aired.
Apart from AsNTM, other international editions of Top Model include Africa’s Next Top Model, Australia’s Next Top Model, Carribean’s Next Top Model, and several versions in European, South American, and Asian countries.
Good luck to the contestants. Don’t forget to smize, ladies.
