Remember Mara Lopez? You know, the daughter of former beauty queen Maria Isabel Lopez who joined “Survivor.”
We’re betting you won’t forget her once you watch the Cinema One Originals official entry called “Palitan,” an erotic film that pays tribute to the classic “Scorpio Nights.”
Also starring Alex Medina (son of Pen Medina) and Mon Confiado, the Ato Bautista-directed film is set in the gritty streets of Raon, Quiapo, and tells the story of ill-tempered Nestor (Medina), who is in debt with his boss, Ramiro (Confiado). But Ramiro doesn’t want money from Nestor; instead he wants his wife, Luisa (Lopez). The two men agree on a deal (Ramiro wants to watch Luisa take a bath naked), and what happens after this is why we should all watch this film. It premieres on Dec. 1 at 9:30 p.m. at the EDSA Shangri-la Cineplex during the 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival.
The 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival will run from Nov. 28 to Dec. 9 at Robinson’s Galleria Movie World and from Nov. 29 to Dec. 4 at the EDSA Shangri-La Cineplex. The festival’s much awaited awards night will be held on Dec. 3 at the Studio 1 of the ABS-CBN Main Building.
The 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival is an annual project of the Cinema One, the local movie channel on cable, owned and operated by Creative Programs, Inc.
