Not a very flattering photo of Janine Tugonon (look at her face!), our representative to the 2012 Miss Universe beauty pageant, but we have to say that the country’s national costume choice this year is very refreshing.
After all the butterfly sleeves and those umbrellas we get to see every year, we finally go for something new, which, in this case, is a singkil-inspired costume with a sablay. We love that it’s sheer and it showcases Janine’s sexy figure. We also love how she’s wearing a crown!
And yes, it’s true that our national costume this year was inspired by this photo of 1973 Miss Universe Margie Moran-Floirendo.
