Congratulations to all the celebrities who were called back after their first round of auditions for the West End revival of “Miss Saigon,” which took place in Makati last Nov. 19.
Leading the list is Kapamilya Karylle, who even got teary-eyed after making it. According to abs-cbnnews.com, Karylle was nervous during her turn. “Nakakanerbyos but it is so overwhelming kaya nga nagulat na naiiyak ako after. I guess that’s really the feeling that you get when you do an audition. For me, it’s almost like nagra-ride ka sa roller coaster. Kahit round one pa lang iyon, it’s a big deal for me,” said Zsa Zsa Padilla’s daughter, who sang “I’d Give My Life For You” as her audition piece.
Apart from Karylle, other celebrities got the call back slip: Star Magic singer/actress Tippy dos Santos, veteran theater actor Jake Macapagal, theater guys Topper Fabregas and OJ Mariano, “Party Pilipinas” mainstay Rachelle Ann Go, Aicelle Santos, Frencheska Farr, and Kapuso singer/actress Rita de Guzman.
One popular singer unfortunately wasn’t asked to return for round two: Sitti.
