Dirty Dancing, essential viewing for generations of lovelorn teenage girls, is enjoying a revival courtesy of a theatrical reincarnation known as Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage. Metro Manila residents will have the opportunity to take in this spectacle when the show comes to town on July 4 at the CCP Main Theatre.
The stage design and both lead roles (Baby and Johnny) are already receiving critical acclaim internationally according to this recent article in the Inquirer. After successful runs in both Europe and North America, show dates in Asia were recently added to the bill. The Manila event is being put on due to an effort from Lunchbox Theatrical Productions and James Cundall.
Regardless of whether you’re trying to spend an enjoyable night at the theatre or live out a sad high school fantasy, Dirty Dancing – The Classic Story on Stage promises to provide something for all comers.
