Wow, the Philippines really ended/started the year with a bang; well, at least in the beauty pageant scene, after Angeli Dione Gomez was proclaimed 2013/2014 Miss Tourism International recently in Malaysia. The 20-year-old beat 60 other contestants, including Miss Thailand (1st runner-upMiss Tourism Queen of the Year) and Miss Malaysia (2nd runner-up/Miss Metropolitan).
Angeli is the third Pinay to win the Miss Tourism International crown, and is just one of the many beauty queens who brought honor to the country in 2013 by making waves in the beau-con scene. Others are Megan Young, Mutya Datul, Bea Rose Santiago, and Ariella Arida.
