Andrea Bocelli is performing in Metro Manila on April 26

The world’s most beloved tenor Andrea Bocelli will take the SM Mall of Asia Arena for a one-night-only show on April 26. It is in support of Cinema, Bocelli’s new album in two years.

According to the press statement concert promoter sent to Coconuts Manila, the show will be divided into two parts. The first will feature music that showscases Bocelli’s supreme talent: operatic repertoire, comprised of arias and duets.

The second half of the show will highlight music that demonstrates how Bocelli is able to take hoity toity music to a bigger audience: his popular repertoire and of course, songs from Cinema.

Cinema, BTW, celebrates the greatest movie songs of all time plus stage musicals that have been immortalized in film. They include themes from Doctor Zhivago, Love Story, The Godfather, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, West Side Story, Evita, among others.

The first and last time Andrea Bocelli performed in Manila was on April 30, 2004 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao. At that time, he was accompanied by a 90-piece all-Filipino orchestra.

Tickets to Bocelli’s upcoming April 26 show will go on sale starting Feb 17 in SMTicket outlets and in SMTickets online.
