Alopecia Awareness advocate Abby Asistio meets Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg

Filipina singer-songwriter and Alopecia Awareness advocate Abby Asistio was among the few selected guests invited to join the Facebook Friends Day, where she personally met the social media site’s co-founder Mark Zuckerberg and COO Sheryl Sandberg.

Only 20 subscribers among its current lot of 1.64 billion across the globe were flown in to the Facebook Headquarters in Menlo Park, San Francisco for the event, which marks the site’s 12th anniversary.

Asistio was specifically given the invite because of her compelling journey with alopecia — excessive hair falling due to stress — after her fellow advocate Rachel Regal sent her story to the Facebook team.

In her Instagram account, Asistio posted a photo with Zuckerberg and confessed that she is “still dumbfounded” by the experience.

She immediately followed this with a short video clip of the Facebook co-founder answering Regal’s question about pursuing and achieving impossible dreams.
