We’re guessing a compelling dance number on an elevated platform no longer works? Aww.
Alma Moreno’s short-lived political career was filled with gaffes and surprises. No one did it quite as colorful as she.
As the counting of votes concludes, however, it has become apparent that Alma did not win a seat in the Senate. Based on the partial and unofficial tally from the Commission on Elections as of Thursday morning, she is on the 24th spot.
The actress accepted the results with a positive attitude.
“Hindi nga ako lumuha eh. Pag nanalo ako, mas luluha ako (I did not even cry. If I won, I would’ve shed tears),” she said.
She added that she never dreamed of becoming a politician anyway. She was, as she said to ABS-CBN, only forced to run.
“Hindi naman talaga ako nangarap talagang maging senador eh. Siguro nakita ni Lord na hanggang dito ka lang. May dahilan lahat si Lord. May reason iyan. Mayroon kang mas magandang pupuntahan (I never dreamed of becoming a senator. Lord saw that this is my limit. He has his reasons. There’s something better for me out there.)” she explained.
Alma was happy to have received more than 2-million votes. She says that it was enough for her to feel loved.
It’s not all defeat for the family, though. Vandolph, Alma’s son, won as a councilor in Parañaque City.
They still have a reason to celebrate.
On the bright side, she will no longer have to talk politics with Karen Davila. Ever. Again.
