Do you still ask your parent’s permission to date a guy you like?
Well, Maine Mendoza does. And even if it’s her alter-ego, Yaya Dub, who’s going out on a date with Alden Richards come Saturday, she still had to give her dad a heads up.
On Thursday, Lola Nidora finally gave her blessing for the lovebirds to date. That episode, with the hashtag #ALDUBMaiDenForREAL topped the local trending topics with more than two million tweets.
No surprises there because Maine quickly updated her Twitter followers. “Nagpaalam na si Yaya Dub kay Dodong!” Maine posted on her Twitter account, along with a screenshot of her conversation with her dad.
“May date kami ni Alden sa Sabado! Pumayag na si Lola!” Maine texted enthusiastically.
Her dad, however, was quick to bring her back down to earth: “Actingan lang yan, noh. True to life ba yan?”
The screenshot ended there, but the AlDub Nation went on a frenzy favoriting and retweeting the entry.

But Maine is not the only one excited about her first date. Alden is also doing his fair share of the preparations to make sure everything would be perfect. “Excited na ako!!! Prepare pa more!!!” Alden wrote on his Twitter account.
