It turns out that some things are sacred, even for “Kalyeserye” stars Alden Richards and Maine “Yaya Dub” Mendoza.
Alden refused to reveal the contents of a letter Maine wrote to him in a letter she gave him last Sep 26 during Eat Bulaga‘s record-setting “Kalyeserye” episode.
“She asked me, sana for my eyes only lang,” Alden told Eat Bulaga co-host Sam YG, according to PEP.ph.
Alden profusely apologized to fans who thought everything between the loveteam would go on-air, as their relationship continues to blossom in the public eye.
“Sorry po, mga Dabarkads, personally kasi nung inabot sa akin ni Maine yung letter, she asked me, sana for my eyes only lang. “So, pasensiya na po, ha, hindi ko talaga puwedeng i-share, sorry,” Alden said.
On Instagram, Alden took a photo of the envelope containing the letter, with the caption: “You’re a beautiful person inside and out, Meng.”
The photo showed that the letter was addressed to Richard Faulkerson, Jr., Alden’s real name. It caused quite a stir on Saturday as Tidora repeatedly asked: “Totohanan na ba? Bakit Richard ang naka-sulat?”
Indeed, it had to be asked. And so as Alden visited the StarStruck 6 contenders on Monday, he had no choice but to respond to a contestant’s musing.
Alden, who was teaching the StarStruck hopefuls about Kilig 101, was asked if he already feels loves for Maine.
“Hindi ko pa nga nakikilala mahal agad? Siyempre, hindi mo puwedeng masabi yung true feelings mo to a person not unless makilala mo siya in person?,” Alden explained, according to PEP.ph.
He did, however, say he would be able to answer “sa tamang panahon.”
What can we say, the boy learned from the best! (We’re talking about you, Lola Nidora)
