Aiza Seguerra won’t let bashers bully his wife Liza Diño anymore

Sorry, bashers — Aiza Seguerra isn’t having any of your bulls**t.

In an interview during the launch of commemorative album for the ABS-CBN drama show Maalaala Mo Kaya on Tue, Aug 2, Aiza said he would no longer tolerate online bullying — especially if it is directed against his wife, actress Liza Dino.

The singer, who was born female, said he is used to bashing and criticism, especially when it comes to his sexual identity.

But when it comes to his wife, Aiza said, it’s a different thing.

“I think most of us na may asawa maintindihan nila. Ako tirahin nila, wala akong pakialam. When it comes to my wife, siguro do’n lang ang ‘di ko kinakaya,” he said.

(I think most of us who have a wife will understand. They can attack me, I don’t care. But when it comes to my wife, I won’t be able to take that.)

The statement came after Aiza posted a screenshot of a Facebook account of a person allegedly bullying Liza. It was followed by a statement, saying he will post the names and photos of those who bully him and Liza online.

The two have been a target of bashers both for their personal lives (Aiza and Liza wed in the US last year) and their political opinion (they supported Rodrigo Duterte).

Aiza explained he wanted to remind netizens that online freedom “comes with responsibility and accountability.”

“If you don’t know how to be responsible and accountable with your actions then I don’t think you deserve that freedom.”

He also said: “Siguro nang nagsulat ako sa Instagram, it’s also my way of telling people who are being bullied na to stand up for themselves. ‘Wag nilang hayaan na mangyari din ‘to, and sa pamilya ng nabu-bully, ‘wag n’yo rin hayaan na mangyari ito sa mga taong mahal ninyo.”

(“When I wrote that on Instagram, it’s also my way of telling people who are being bullied na to stand up for themselves. They shouldn’t let themselves, their families, and their loved ones be bullied.”)

Aiza has no plans of lying low on social media because of the bashers.

In fact, Aiza has prepared herself for more bashing as he and Liza plan to have a baby soon.

Liza already has a daughter, Amarah, from a previous relationship.

“Well, we take it as it comes naman. Ang akin lang, bubusugin namin ng pagmamahal our daughter Amarah and ang magiging anak pa namin. There’s always a way naman of explaining to the kids how to handle these things,” he said.
