The former child star now identifies herself as a man. This is according to her – okay, his – girlfriend, Liza Dino.
Liza shared with Yong Chavez of ABS-CBN North America News Bureau that Aiza made her understand a lot of things about beingn part of the LGBT community. “Hindi siya lesbian,” she said about Aiza. “Transgender siya. I’m not really exposed to these kinds of things until I met him kaya sobrang conscious ako kasi it means a lot pala.
She added, “I think siguro being together and us being in this relationship allowed him to really know kung ano siya. I’m proud of him for really embracing it now and I think he’s a lot happier and I’m very supportive. All the more it validates I’m a woman, hindi ako lesbian. Ako din, sa sarili ko, it was something that I had to really go through in terms of asking myself and going through that ‘Ano ba talaga ako because of my relationship with Aiza? My role in the relationship has always been a woman, a wife. Our dynamics is that of a man and a woman, so I’m happy. I’m happy because I’m a girl.’ Once you find it, you know. You’re just willing to get to the core of it, just knowing that you love the person beyond gender, beyond identity.”
