“On Friday night, Feb 7, singer-actress Aiza Seguerra, 30, surprised her girlfriend Liza Diño with a wedding proposal at the last scene of ‘Kung Paano Maghiwalay,’ the play that they both starred in,” reports Ramil Digal Gulle on InterAksyon.com.
The play was staged at the UP Faculty Center Theater (Teatro Hermogenes Ylagan) at the University of the Philippines in Diliman.
According to the report, Diño was shocked by the proposal and burst into tears. Of course, she said yes.
The report also revealed that “Seguerra had already received the blessings of her and Diño’s parents before making the proposal.”
The couple will most likely tie the knot in the U.S., where same-sex marriages are legal in 17 states, including California and New York. The report pointed out that Diño, who was Mutya ng Pilipinas Tourism in 2001, had lived and worked as a chef for several years in the U.S.
