Aiza Seguerra is supportive of Charice’s decision to change his name to Jake Zyrus.
Over the weekend, the singer, who gained international recognition for as Charice for her belting prowess, changed his Instagram handle to Jake Zyrus as he posted the simple message of thanks.

(If a name becomes an obstruction to a person’s freedom to express themselves, I don’t see anything wrong with changing it)
Seguerra, a recording artist and former TV host who is now the chairman of the National Youth Commission, punctuated his post with a hashtag congratulating Jake Zyrus on his transformation.
Jake Zyrus made his debut on Monday via Twitter. His post where he introduced his new name has garnered thousands of likes, as well as mixed messages of support and criticism.
My first tweet as Jake. Overwhelmed. Saw all your love comments and I’m so happy. Finally. I love you, everyone and see you soon.

The former child star also gained fans in the United States after appearing on Ellen Degeneres in 2007 and on Oprah in 2008. He also released two albums in the United States and guested on hit musical show “Glee” in 2011.
While Jake previously came out as lesbian and told Oprah Winfrey in a 2014 interview that his “soul” was male, he only began identifying as a transman and using the male gender pronoun in 2016.
Responding to the bashing he received, he wrote: “I won’t let anyone ruin this moment. I won’t let anyone ruin my happiness. Thank you to all the beautiful write ups about me.”
