Not gay: Angelina Mead King says she still likes women

METRO MANILA — Angelina Mead King (born Ian King) is setting the record straight — she still prefers women.

“No, I’m not gay. I like women. Soft, curvy, yeah, no body hair,” she told Tim Yap in an exclusive interview for The Philippine Star.

She and wife Joey Mead “never separated” over the fact that she is a transwoman.

Angelina said she can see how some people find her situation confusing — but clarified that gender identity and sexual expression are two different things.

She identifies as a woman.

She is also sexually attracted to women.

The sports car enthusiast said she “still love doing male things” but is also into shopping and women’s fashion.

Just don’t expect her to always be in female attire.

“Just because I’m not dressed doesn’t mean I’m not Angie. It’s not a costume I put on,” she said.

Angelina is currently taking female hormones and in two to three years should start having breasts.

“I’m taking medication through an endocrinologist,” she said. “My chest has grown a little — from 36 to 37 — and my waist has gotten smaller.”

There are no plans for gender reassignment, however. “I’m happy with my privates and that should remain private. It’s no one’s business.”
