Filipino actress Isabel Granada, 41, fell into a coma due to an aneurysm and cardiac arrest yesterday in Qatar. She was rushed to the Hamad Hospital in Doha after collapsing during a meet and greet with fans in Doha.
The news was made public when her friend actress Bianca Lapus asked for people’s prayers on Facebook.
“Isa is in a coma now. She was rushed at heart hospital and status was post cardiac arrest, but according to the nurse I chatted with in Qatar, she was transferred to Hamad Hospital and its (sic) confirmed she has internal bleeding and aneurysm.”
Granada is set to undergo an operation today; her family has not issued a statement on her condition. ABS-CBN News reported that the actress was in Qatar to attend the Philippine Trade and Tourism Conference last Friday.
Granada rose to fame as part of the late 80s variety show That’s Entertainment and has since consistently been a supporting character in a number of local TV shows and movies. She recently starred in the GMA Anthology series Tadhana, in an episode that tells the true story of an Overseas Filipino Worker living in Kuwait.
