Former teen actor John Wayne Sace played one of his most memorable roles in the 2002 film Dekada ’70, where he shared the screen with Vilma Santos and Christopher de Leon.
For a time, he was considered one of the most promising young stars. Now 27, Sace finds himself the central character in a real-life drama.
On Mon night, Oct 10, reports ABS-CBN News Online, Sace and his friend sustained injuries after motorcycle-riding gunmen shot them in Pasig City.
The report noted: “Initial investigation showed that Sace and his friend Erik Sabino were waiting for someone around 11:10pm when two unidentified suspects repeatedly fired at them along Dr. Sixto Antonio Avenue. The suspects fled on board a motorcycle while the victims were rushed to Rizal Medical Center.”
Pasig City police officials revealed that Sace and Sabino are on the city’s drugs watch list for allegedly peddling illegal drugs.
Sace was hit once and is now under observation at a hospital. Sabino, though, was declared dead upon arrival at the hospital due to multiple gunshot wounds.
