It’s special when you have the ability to turn heads. But that doesn’t always mean it’s a good thing ha.
Just look at some of the following from the recent Star Magic Ball held in Makati Shangri-la Hotel. All of them made us stare for approximately 10 seconds, but while some had us doing so because of good reasons (they carried the gown well, they looked stunning, etc.), others made us stare and shake our head at the same time.
Daniel Padilla
Props for the bad boy for not sticking to black and/or white, but this shade, which reminds us of Johnson’s Floor wax, was almost as red as the red carpet, and that’s not a good thing, of course.
Julia Montes
This young lady got it right. The neckline and the long sleeves may be conservative and the shape may have been the sexiest thing about the number, but it still ended up looking gorgeous. We are so digging the slicked back wet ‘do, too.

Simple hairstyle, pretty simple gown, just the right amount of accessories, and the right kind of surprise – we’re looking at you, silver nails!
Jodi Sta. Maria and Shaina Magdayao
More of Jodi, actually. Wearing pants when everyone else is wearing a dress will always make people stare at you a little longer. Love the immaculate choice color, the throwback hairstyle, plsu that surprise cape.
Jessy Mendiola
Not a big fan of this too stiff and too simple gown. The hairstyle, too, we think, is not working for her.
Bea Alonzo
We are disappointed because Bea, who is known for flaunting her cleavage in every Star Magic Ball, isn’t doing so this year. We’re a little afraid of this gothic look that she’s going for, too.
KZ Tandingan
Defnitely not flattering. Makes the short woman look so much shorter. And the hair didn’t do anything good for her.
Sweet
We’re always excited to see what the gay guys are wearing during the ball, and we actually love what Sweet wore to this year’s ball. This deconstructed mishmash of an outfit looks fun but not over-the-top.
Alora
We have to admit we have no idea who this girl is (we just know that her handle is unitednationsofalora), but we do know that she shouldn’t have been allowed to wear this creation. What is up with starlets and newbies who think they can pull off such outfits? Classy is still the way to go.
