The Philippines’ 2019 midterm election is here, finally — and with great voting power comes great responsibility … and freebies.
To encourage Filipinos to exercise their right to vote, a number of F&B businesses are now offering election day promos for anyone who can prove that they hit the polls today. All they have to do is show that their right index finger has the indelible ink which marks that they’ve voted.
Below are just some of the promos of which voters can avail of after hitting the polls.
Dairy Queen announced in a Facebook post that voters can upsize their medium Blizzards to a large one, free of charge. This is available for the Oreo, Strawberry Banana, and Chocolate Chip flavors.
A medium Blizzard is priced at PHP99 (US$1.89), while a large is at PHP119 (US$2.28), which means customers can save PHP20 (US$0.38).
The promo is valid in all DQ stores today except those in the Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City, Enchanted Kingdom in Laguna, and the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Zark’s Burger, on the other hand, will give responsible citizens free fries and an iced tea for voting.
“Your vote can win you many things. A better future and FREE FRIES & ICED TEA,” the burger chain said in its Facebook announcement.
Voters just have to present their finger with indelible ink on election day at any Zark’s Burger branch.

The promo is valid at all Krispy Kreme stores, except the ones in Manila airport terminals and the Makati Medical Center.
Fried chicken chain Max’s Restaurant says that it is giving customers who have voted a free regular-sized pancit canton meal, with a minimum food purchase of PHP500 (US$9.56).
