When peeling garlic, we’ve been told to smack it with the side of our knife, use a mortar and pestle, or pass it through a garlic press. All three ways are good, except you don’t end up with whole cloves of garlic. What you get is either smashed, pounded or grated garlic.
Well here’s a neat trick you can practice to get good, whole ones.

Step 1: Loosen up a whole garlic head by gently smashing it on a solid surface.

Step 2: Place the cloves in a bowl.

Step 3: Cover it with another bowl, inverted, then shake vigorously for about half a minute.
That’s all it takes and you already get whole peeled garlic cloves. Was that easy or what?
