There are many ways you can enjoy ripe avocado. You can chop the meat and toss it in a salad, spread it on toast, mash and mix with milk and ice, or simply drizzle with condensed milk, scoop and indulge.
There are times though that half the fruit is enough for one sitting. And you end up forcing yourself to consume the whole thing just because it will rot or go to waste. Well, not necessarily. There are ways you can keep the avocado looking and tasting great in time for the next meal.
The most important thing to do: leave the pit on. Next, follow any of the three below:
1. Squeeze the juice out of a lemon and brush the flesh with it. Keep in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator after.
2. No lemon juice? Use olive oil instead to stop it from oxidizing. Keep in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator after.

3. Chop a small red onion and transfer to a bowl. Place the avocado on top, skin side down. The avocado won’t take on any of the veg’s flavor plus you can still use the onion after.
