Fancy yourself a ~real~ Potterhead? Then you might be interested in this cake that’s an exact replica of aunt Petunia’s “pudding” (that’s dessert in England) in the film “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets.”

While not as mainstream as say, Butterbeer or Chocolate Frogs, Harry Potter fans that recognize this particular reference will get a kick out of this cake by Joyce’s Pastries, a Manila-based made-to-order cake shop—and we think that the resemblance is just uncanny.

The same dessert was also referenced in the book as a “mountain of cream and sugared violets”, in which Dobby the house-elf floats it above Mrs. Mason’s head in a bid to convince Harry Potter not to return to Hogwarts for his safety—or else smash it above the Dursleys’ unsuspecting guest.

“Harry ran up the hall into the kitchen and felt his stomach disappear.  Aunt Petunia’s masterpiece of a pudding, the mountain of cream and sugared violets, was floating up near the ceiling.  On top of a cupboard in the corner crouched Dobby.

“No,” cracked Harry.  “Please… they’ll kill me…”

“Harry Potter must say he’s not going back to school – ”

“Dobby… please…”

“Say it, sir – ”

“I can’t – ”

Dobby gave him a tragic look.

“Then Dobby must do it, sir, for Harry Potter’s own good.”

The pudding fell to the floor with a heart-stopping crash.  Cream splattered the windows and walls as the dish shattered.  With a crack like a whip, Dobby vanished.”

Joyce’s take on the famous pudding involves vanilla chiffon with chocolate ganache and buttercream—a yummy combination that we hope lands in our bellies instead of our heads.

In case you need your memory refreshed, here’s the exact scene where the cake makes an appearance:
