The wait will soon be over but the long queues are just about to start.
After almost a year-long wait, burger chain Shake Shack has finally announced when its very first Manila outlet is opening — and it’s this week.
A gif posted by Shake Shack on Facebook this morning reveals that it will open on Friday. The fast-casual restaurant’s first Manila outlet will be located in Central Square in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig City. An opening time, however, has not been announced.
Shake Shack first announced it would be opening in the Philippines in July last year. The news instantly went viral on Twitter, with scores of netizens sharing their excitement over the chain’s arrival on our shores.
Rumors that Shake Shack would open in the Philippines started circulating as early as 2014. Its opening is so anticipated that a popular local food website even “announced” its opening in an April Fools’ joke in 2017.
Founded in New York City, Shake Shack now has outlets in other parts of the United States and the world. In Asia, it can be found in Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and most recently, in Singapore’s new Jewel Changi.
