Filipinos got really excited when Popeyes, the American fried chicken chain, announced that it was coming back to the country after more than 10 years of absence.
Just yesterday, Popeyes Philippines confirmed with Coconuts that they’ll be opening seven branches in Manila — and they told us where they’ll open, too.
For those looking forward to trying the fast-food joint’s famous chicken (often paired with biscuits, rice, or mashed potatoes), here are the places where you can find a Popeyes store in the near future:
- Arcovia in Pasig City
- Eastwood in Quezon City
- Vertis North also in Quezon City
- Alabang Town Center in Muntinlupa City
- SM San Lazaro in Manila
- SM Manila
- Kroma Tower in Makati City
True blue fans would know that Popeyes was in the Philippines in the early aughts, but closed in 2007 due to a conflict with its local franchise holder. Many are hoping that this time will work out because while Jollibee rules in these parts, other fast-food brands like McDonald’s and KFC have also become Pinoy favorites.
Popeyes Philippines told Coconuts they have yet to finalize the opening dates for these stores, but we’ll let you know as soon as they make it official.
