PH’s Gallery Vask is 39th in Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2016

We’re so proud of this two-year-old restaurant in BGC.

Gallery Vask made it to the annual Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list, where it ranked 39. Not only is the restaurant a new entry, it’s also the only one in the Philippines that made it. (In 2015, Antonio’s Tagaytay made it at number 48, but it was absent this year.)

The restaurant serves cuisine that the owners have labelled “anthropological” to mean modern cuisine using local ingredients, inspired by Philippine culture.

Chef Chele takes pride in reviving indigenous produce and serving them with a whiff of fresh inspiration. One of his signature dishes is the Tiradito, his version of kinilaw

The awards ceremony was held in Bangkok, Thailand, on Feb 29. The event was sponsored by San Pellegrino and Acqua Panna.

”We are beyond honored to be awarded as 39th in the prestigious Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list. This is an amazing milestone we would like to share with you,” the restaurant said on its Facebook page.

Bangkok’s Gaggan, for the second year in a row, snagged the number one spot. Tokyo’s Narisawa also retained its second place ranking.

Earlier this year, Filipino chef Margarita Fores was also named as Asia’s Best Female Chef 2016 and she accepted the award in person last night.
