After a series of delayed openings, the Philippines-owned restaurant operator Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures has finally brought the beloved Shakey’s pizza chain — known for its thin-crust pizzas and potato mojos — to the Lion City as they expand their presence across Southeast Asia.
Shakey’s opened its first Singapore branch last week at the Lucky Plaza Mall along Orchard Road, which is also home to a Jollibee outlet.
Singapore marks Shakey’s second international presence after the pizza chain opened stores across UAE, where it currently has four branches.
“Shakey’s is the Philippines’ favourite family restaurant, serving our signature pizza and fried chicken for over 40 years,” the Singapore outlet first wrote in September last year.
Yet it took another six months for the pizza chain to finally open its doors in Singapore.
“Naka-ilang ‘We’re coming to Singapore’ na kayo lods (You’ve been saying ‘We’re coming to Singapore’ for a while now, idol),” one user commented.
“I have been waiting for Shakey’s to open since August. Very soon your store will be forgotten,” another user said.
Fret no more — Filipinos and other pizza lovers can finally head to Lucky Plaza for a thin-crust slice or two.
