COCONUTS HOT SPOT – Tired of your usual after-work spots in the Ortigas area? Here’s something you can add to your regular rotation.

For your next dinner out with friends, we suggest Industrie Food Loft in City Golf.  It’s a hip 300-square-meter dining space with 12 interesting food stalls, and a beverage bar offering unique coolers and spiked drinks (yay!).

Yes, it’s airconditioned but there are also picnic tables outside if you prefer to dine al fresco.

What makes it special? Industrie boats of well-curated food. It features aspiring chefs who don’t have an avenue to showcase their dishes. There’s something for everyone — from Japanese streetfood to third-wave coffee, from Kansi to good ol’ fried chicken.

Without further ado, here are Industrie’s food concepts and their must-try items.

1.Niku Niku Japanese skewers

Serving grilled skewers inspired by the streetfood of Taiwan and Japan. Best enjoyed with fried rice or bean sprouts.

Try: Saikoro wagyu cubes in houseblend flavor (PHP115)

2.  Tornado peri-peri chicken

Serving a fusion of Portuguese and Filipino flavors. Take your pick from their signature peri-peri sauces: original, tiger’s fury and dragon’s breath.

3. Hoka modern Japanese

Serving aburi or torched sushi, made right in front of you. They also have filling rice bowls if you want something heavier.

4. Opster’s Negrenese breakfst

Serving classic Ilongo dishes, including kansi, a sour beef-based soup with batwan. It’s perfect a nice bowl of white rice.

5. The Broken Oven

Serving comfort food with a modern twist. Their crunchy pork belly is a yummy treat.

6. Krates Coffee

Serving coffee and Singaporean favorites like kopi bun and kaya toast. It’s the third-wave coffee concept of popular brand Kopi Roti.

Try: Krates redeye (PHP180)

7. LokLok Asian street food

Serving Asian street food ranging from fresh meats to seafood. Choose from different sauces such as garlic chili, Hoisin, and curry laksa.

8. Noonchi

Serving fusion comfort food inspired by Asian flavors and travel. All made from original recipes.

Try: Bukgogi cheesesteak (PHP195)

9. Buns and Bros

Serving burgers served in buttery brioche buns. Fun fact: It’s owned by a group of Crossfitters.

10. The Pullet

Serving good ol’ fried chicken with french fries. For fun, the sauce is in a syringe.

10. Manila creamery

Serving genuine Italian gelato with a Filipino twist. Try their soft serve which  is only available in the Industrie branch.

11. Prime Shack 

Serving seafood and steaks. Flavored shrimps are available in garlic butter, salted egg, cajun spice and classic boil.

Beverage stall: On the rocks

Serving refreshing coolers with the option to add rum, scotch, tequilla, vodka or gin. Perfect for a night out.
