We just discovered Sidda’s Salted Caramel Cake and we must say: gotta love homebakers.
Unlike most homebakers who gets away with the craziest food ideas in their repertoire, Sidda’s keeps it straightforward and delicious.
It currently has 9 items on the menu, with our gaze turned to the salted caramel cake (PHP800). It’s an 8-inch chocolate wonder that’s almost like the regular chocolate cake except it’s not.
As soon as you get handed a box, the first thing you’ll notice is how heavy it is.
It’s rich and a true heavy-hitter. A thick layer of iced chocolate ganache covers the firm chocolate chiffon cake. A slice will reveal that the chiffon cake is divided into three parts; first, by a thick line of salted caramel and second, by another thick line of the same iced chocolate ganache.
A slice paired with coffee, or milk if you’re that kind of a person, makes for a filling merienda or hey, even breakfast.
Just a little trivia: Sidda is Addis spelled backward, which is yes, the name of the baker.
