This one goes to all the Yakult drinks we’ve had before.

Black Scoop Cafe is now serving Yakult soft serve ice cream in its flagship store in Maginhawa, Quezon City, and we learned today that it will soon be available in all their locations by the end of March.

Why the two-stage launches for new flavors? It’s because, as the cafe’s F&B consultant Diane Pua says, the Maginhawa branch is their lab and training HQ.

“So new things are usually tested there first, but we roll out the new flavor to all other stores by the end of the month,” she told Coconuts Manila.

The new offering will be only available for a limited time, so Yakult lovers better try it while they can.

Pua also told Coconuts: “We wanted to showcase our ability to turn a pleasantly unexpected flavor into our signature desserts… Yakult has always been a staple in every Filipino’s fridge, it is time they can also enjoy it as a sundae.”

The sweet, tangy Japanese probiotic drink can be seen in virtually every household in the country.

It has always been big in Asia, but has newfound popularity in the West after it was worked into the storyline of the hit Netflix film To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, wherein one of the main characters, Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), raved about it.

Black Scoop Cafe also surprised netizens earlier this month with its announcement of its White Rabbit flavored ice cream.
