Nope, the beauty queens weren’t served salads, oats, and chia seeds.
They enjoyed a full course dinner — from appetizer to dessert — at the 65th Miss Universe Governor’s Ball held at the SMX Convention Center on Mon eve.
The feast was prepared by veteran restaurateur Glenda Barretto of Via Mare. Interestingly, she was also the caterer of the 43rd Miss Universe pageant held in 1994 at the Philippine International Convention Center, ABS-CBN News reports.
So, what was on the menu?
For appetizers, the guests were served salmon tartar in sesame cone, white anchovy ceviche, and flaked chicken triangles.
For the mains, they had Prawns Catalan with mesclun on crispy noodles, roasted pumpkin with apple cream and Angus beef brisket.


The good ole ube took the spotlight for dessert. (see picture above)
According to Barretto, they proposed two menus for the event but this was the one which got picked by the organizers.
Cafe Via Mare also prepared the food for the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting dinner held in Nov 2015 and for the inauguration of President Rodrigo Duterte in June 2016.
