The Philippines doesn’t have a winter, per se, but the weather has been a bit chilly these past few days, making it a great time (or at least not a miserable one) to enjoy a hot, steamy beverage. Enter Starbucks Philippines’ three new hot drinks, two of them matcha-based, available starting today.

First up is Roasted Soybean Pure Matcha Latte (from PHP175/US$3.44 for a tall), a hot drink topped with cold foam that comes with finely ground soybean powder and Okinawa brown sugar sauce. There’s also the new Black Sesame Pure Matcha Latte with Taro Foam (also PHP175 for tall), which combines matcha with, as its name suggests, a black sesame sauce topped with purple taro foam.

Meanwhile, if those options weren’t sweet enough for you, making a comeback to the menu is the Okinawa Brown Sugar Latte (also starting at PHP175), an espresso combined with steamed milk and covered with whipped cream and brown sugar syrup.

The new drinks are available in Starbucks stores all over the country (and all three are also available iced, for when the weather warms back up).

The American coffee giant first arrived in the Philippines in 1997, when it opened a branch at the 6750 Ayala Building in Makati City. Since then, no cafe (whether local or foreign) has been able keep up with its ubiquity and popularity.
