What a wonderful time to be a alive!
Homegrown Filipino fastfood favorite Jollibee has unveiled two new menu items: Adobo Flakes Yum! Burger (PHP59) and halo-halo sundae (PHP35).
Both are available in Jollibee stores for a limited period.
The variation of the regular Yum burger is topped with adobo flakes. Adobo is a hallmark Filipino dish typically cooked using vinegar, garlic and soy sauce.
Halo-halo is a desert made with shaved ice and toppings. The Pinoy treat once caught the attention of Anthony Bourdain. A version of the dessert also appeared in Coachella a couple of months ago.
Jollibee’s halo-halo sundae is topped with the usual ingredients like red bean, banana, jackfruit, nata de coco and macapuno.
The uniquely Pinoy items were released in time for the 2016 Independence Day which falls on June 12. Jollibee has a campaign called “Pinoy and Proud”, and they are organizing a free celebration and countdown on June 11.
