Early this year, Karen Young of Karen’s Kitchen closed her pastry shop in Palm Village, Makati, to relocate it to another location. Her new spot is inside the bustling neighborhood of Kapitolyo in Pasig. Makati residents shouldn’t worry though, the Petron Dasma location is still very much up and running.
Located along San Rafael Street in Bgy Kapitolyo, Karen’s Kitchen’s bestselling treats — dessert cakes like Caramel Mousse, Chocolate Ganache, Sticky Toffee Pudding and Turtle Pie; sinful snacks like Choco Chip Rum Cake and Lemon Japanese Cheesecake and Frozen Red Velvet Cookies — are finally be more accessible to Pasig folks.
Unlike the Petron Dasma branch, the Kapitolyo location will have a function room for events where breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea or early dinner are served. Note, though, that you will need to reserve the space as it is not for walk-ins.
As for the design of her shop, Karen shares, “it’s cozy, comfy, homey and fun to be in, with a small display of yesteryears’ kitchen tools in a small case. I went for a vintage kitchen theme as it brings me back to my favorite series, Little House on the Prairie and the bits and pieces of curated vintage décor gives me a nostalgic feel.”
The shop is on its finishing stage and will open its doors within the month. Until then, let’s contain our excitement.
