Filipinos love samgyeopsal (Korean for pork belly). So much so that “Tara Samgyeop” (Let’s eat samgyeopsal) has become some millennials’ favorite catch-all phrase for whenever they want to eat out with friends.

Tons of Korean BBQ joints have opened all over the country in recent years, but this Korean grill is offering something a bit unbelievable for the opening of its fifth branch in Makati City — PHP5 (US$0.09) for an order of samgyeopsal.

Jin Joo announced yesterday that the deal is available on Jan. 30, the opening day of its new Glorietta 4 branch, and will last until Feb. 3.

Before y’all get too excited — note, the promo only applies to the restaurant’s 180-gram pork belly with in-house seasoning. This means that its marinated samgyeopsal dishes — with flavors like smoky barbecue, soybean, and wine — are not included in the deal.

And, on top of that, customers can only avail of the deal when they order another item on the menu. It’s also only available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Despite these conditions, many netizens were pretty hyped about the deal.

Jannica Arzala Garado tagged a friend and wrote in Filipino: “Let’s just eat samgyupsal here.”

“I like this but there’s going to be a lot of people here,” Arnold Banal said.

“Wow I like this,” wrote Shey Pgl.

“This is just PHP5, although we need to [put in the] effort to go to Glorietta [mall],” Zueitina Adoptante told a friend.

“This is gonna be a (sic) mayhem,” said Via Isabel.

Jin Joo also has branches at the SM Aura mall in Taguig City, Eastwood Citywalk 1 in Quezon City, The Podium Mall in Mandaluyong City, and at the Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
