7 reasons why we’re going back to newly opened Tipsy Pig at Capitol Commons

We can imagine Tipsy Pig Gastropub becoming a bar where men hold barkada inumans, with female dates in tow. Though the interiors are very masculine, the joint serves cute cocktails that seem targeted to ladies. Take, for example, the Bobbing for Berry (PHP225): a unique concoction of Kettle One vodka, crème de cacao, and fresh strawberries. It’s sweet and cute and with almost no evidence of alcohol, which because it is vodka, is but right. Each signature cocktail is named after each one of the owners, a large group of pretty young-ish Manileños in their 20s and 30s, some of whom are also involved in bars like Reserve (City Golf Pasig), Urbn Bar + Kitchen (The Fort Strip, BGC), and Relic (BGC) just to name a few.

Tipsy Pig, according to the owners, is different from their other bars because they feel they can make more food sales here. “We’re following a certain business model,” one of the owners Ton Gonzales says, “where [before] only 10% of our sales come from food, here, because the food is really good, we can see that the food sales can go up than what we’re used to.” It has quite a long menu which, we can imagine they’ll start trimming down as soon as the newly gastropub stabilizes. It’s only been open a week, after all.

Here’s what we had.

1. Bobbing for Berry (PHP225)

2. Belly Good Sisig Taco (PHP280)

3. Tipsy Boneless Crispy Pata (PHP770)

4. Salted Caramel beer (PHP121)

5. Papi Dance shooter (PHP180)

6. Vineyard pizza (PHP470)

7. Tipsy fish and chips (PHP480)
