Jollibee continues its quest to dominate the world’s fast-food scene: the Bee announced it was opening a new store in the Queens borough in New York City.
The announcement comes less than a year after Jollibee opened a branch in the heart of Times Square in the Big Apple.
Jollibee reportedly signed a lease for its new location in Queens, which measures 2,717 sq ft (252.41 sqm). It will be at 91-19 Queens Boulevard in Flushing, just across from the Queens Center Mall.
This will be the third store in Queens and the fifth in New York.
It makes sense for Jollibee to increase its locations in Queens as New Yorkers all over have flooded the Times Square location — Queens is home to the largest Filipino concentration in New York City, with 54 percent living in the borough, according to 2020 data from the Asian American Federation.
The new Jollibee store in Queens hopes to open its doors to customers later this year.
Jollibee currently serves 90 locations in North America and recently opened a store in Surrey, British Columbia in Canada earlier this month. It also opened its first location in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in September.
The company aims to have 500 stores in North America in the next five to seven years.
