Jollibee seems to be spreading its financial joy all over the world.
With an investment of US$100 million, Jollibee Foods Corp. has bought 40% of Denver, Colorado-based hamburger chain Smashburger.
“Smashburger, started in Denver in 2007, is among a group of relatively new chains that have been taking on established fast-food operators by touting fresh and natural ingredients,” reports Julie Jargon in The Wall Street Journal.
Smashburger has 335 corporate and franchised restaurants in 35 states and outlets in seven countries.
