Pinoy food was in the spotlight, too.

Cafe Via Mare, the concept dining arm of Via Mare, was tapped to come up with the food for the inauguration of President Rodrigo Duterte.
“It may be recalled that Via Mare’s catering services provider was picked for the papal visit of St. John Paul II, the Miss Universe pageant in 1995, and ASEAN Summit in Cebu in 2007,” reports GMA News Online.

For Duterte’s inauguration, there was monggo soup, banana turon, pan de sal with kesong puti and Vigan longganisa, durian tarts, as well as rice cakes such as puto bumbong and bibingka.
