Thanks to the Aguirre siblings, chef Ricardo and older sister Emme, our food has become even more accessible across the shores. They opened House of Inasal in New York City last year, serving straightforward Filipino favorites like La Paz batchoy, a myriad of silogs, arroz caldo and even the street side snack kwek-kwek, which comes with wooden sticks for customers to spear them with.
Located at Woodside, Queens, the restaurant has been satisfying people with unadulterated Filipino cuisine. Among them is New York Times online columnist Ligaya Mishan, who seemed to be happy with what the House offers, including the unlimited rice.
