Fans of Mr. Jones’ Tapa Overload might be disappointed to know that the restaurant has already closed its store in Greenbelt 5, Makati. Taking over the same is Torch restaurant, which is known for its sushi (the Volcano Roll is a must-order!), pizzas and the awesome salpicao medallion.

Torch has spruced it up with yellows, greens and lots of wood. The floor-to-ceiling glass wall is still there, allowing the light in and for the patrons and diners inside, a glimpse of the goings-on outside. This is Torch’s fourth branch, with addresses in San Juan, UP Town Center and Trinoma Mall.

For fans of Mr. Jones, not all hope is lost. Raintree Restaurant’s diner will soon introduce Jones Jr. It’ll be more of a stall than a restaurant and will aim to attract moviegoers with its aray of delicious quick fixes. The menu will be revamped but the favorite items from Mr. Jones will be retained. Other updates from the Raintree Restaurant include the replacement of Momo with Chelsea Kitchen in Eastwood, and Simple Lang branching out to SM Megamall.
