Flip-flop fanatics gathered at Rockwell Tent in Makati last night for the annual “Make Your Own Havaianas” and boy was the event successful. The Tent was very happening. Havaianas flip-flops were used as decor; there were various installations made of flip-flops (some even hanging from the ceiling) and the best one was a hot air balloon in the middle of the Tent which made use of over 1,700 pieces of Havaianas flip-flops. Even the photo wall was studded with slippers from the famous Brazilian brand.

Food and drinks were in abundance (Cupcakes by Sonja even had a stall!), plus all the right people were in attendance: popular bloggers like Vince Golangco of When in Manila (who hosted the event together with MYX VJ Joyce Pring), and celebs like Pia Magalona and son Frank and daughter Maxene, model Brent Javier, stylish sisters Megan and Lauren Young, plus celeb couple Anthony Pangilinan and Maricel Laxa.

The highlight of the night was, of course, when everyone was given the go-signal to approach the slipper-makers and hand them the forms so they could proceed making everyone’s personalized Havaianas.

So what did we get? A coconuts-inspired one (well, sort of) made of a slim lime green base and black straps plus a couple of alien pins (they didn’t have coconuts, boo!).
