WTF is Galapeño Tango?

Galapeño Tango, if you look at Yellow Cab Pizza’s poster for their latest limited edition food bundle, is just a basket of chicken and some fries.

But if you take the time to read some more, then you’ll find out that it Galapeño Tango is composed of GArlic Paremsan Chicken Wings and JaLAPENO Potato Wedges. Creative!

Available only until April 30, this new offering is also offered separately a la carte.

The Garlic Parmesan Chicken Wings (choose from 4, 6, and 12 full-sized pieces) looked very enticing when they arrived at our table. The chicken skin looked very crispy, plus we could see the garlic bits coating the chicken. The chicken skin was actually very crispy, but the taste of garlic was very subtle. The cheesy sauce helped a little, but it wasn’t enough to save the dish. My companion commented “parang lutong bahay lang,” but I actually thought my fabulous yaya’s fried chicken is so much better and tastier. It’s so so-so that I think Mini Stop’s fried chicken, which has a cult following, is better – and I haven’t even tasted it yet!

One more thing about the chicken, it’s so oily I was afraid for my health. That alone made me never want to eat it again, ever.

On the other hand, the Jalapeño Potato Wedges were chunky and the coating was tasty enough and had the right amount of bite. Other than that, there’s nothing really special about the fries.

Honestly, I was pretty traumatized after the meal. It was very sinful, and I didn’t even have fun committing that sin.

I’ll still go back to Yellow Cab, however. Their Bacon, Mango and Egg Breakfast My Size Folded Pizza, which is just as sinful and deadly and oily, is to die for. But that’s another story.
