Coco commends: Seattle’s Best holiday-inspired drinks

COCO COMMENDS — Yes, it’s that time of the year again. You know, when coffee shops release limited edition beverages to celebrate the Christmas season (and use these Christmas drinks as bait for “free” planners).

This year, Seattle’s Best is bringing back two popular coffee concoctions and introducing two new ones.

Coming back this year is Cookies and Mint, a mix of dark chocolate, mint, and espresso, topped with Oreo cookies. It’s the type of drink you want to get yourself after a long day at work—something to reward yourself with (we suggest you go for the cold version instead of the hot one).

Another returning favorite from last season is the best-selling Coffee Hazelnut, a coffee blend made up of hazelnut, white chocolate sauce, and coconut. Now this is the ultimate comfort drink and while both hot and cold versions are good, the hot one seems to be a little better than the cold one. Perfect for catching up with an old friend.

How about the newcomers? First, there is Espresso Jelly, an easy-to-like, bold and strong coffee concoction with coffee jelly. Have it after lunch—it’s almost like dessert and at the same time, it will definitely wake you up.

And then there is also Caramel Apple, for more adventurous drinkers. It’s espresso that has apple syrup and a white chocolate sauce, plus it’s garnished with caramel sauce, cinnamon powder and whipped cream. Not for the safe types, but adventurous ones will surely love this unique-tasting drink, which unfortunately is available for only a limited period.

All four variants are available hot or cold.

Sounds yummers but we’re curious about Starbucks’ holiday offerings, too.
