Denny’s opens its first branch in Cebu

Late night dining in Cebu just got a little more interesting today with the opening of Denny’s first branch outside Metro Manila at Robinson’s Galleria in Cebu.

This marks the American restaurant’s sixth branch in the country since opening its first in 2016.

Denny’s is known in the United States for its Grand Slam Breakfast, among other huge breakfast items on the menu. 24-hour breakfast is far from a new concept in the Philippines, but Denny’s pioneered the idea in the United States.

Popular menu items include:

  • The Original Grand Slam (PHP395/US$7.90), which has two buttermilk pancakes, two bacon strips, two sausages, and two eggs.
  • The Lumberjack Slam (PHP495/US$9.90), which has two strips of bacon, two eggs, two sausages, two buttermilk pancakes, a slice of ham, and a hash brown.
  • The Grand Slamwich (PHP395/US$7.90), which includes two scrambled eggs, crumbled sausage, bacon, shaved ham, and American cheese on toast grilled with maple spice spread, and served with fries.

While 95 percent of the local menu is the same as the American menu, of course, they also have Filipino breakfast items which include:

  • Pork belly and eggs (PHP375/US$7.50)
  • Pork adobo (PHP295/US$5.90)
  • Beef tapa (PHP385/US$7.70)
  • Crispy bangus belly (PHP375/US$7.70)
  • Pork chops and eggs (PHP325/US$6.50)

Denny’s first opened in 1953 as Danny’s Donuts in Lakewood, California.

The diner now has 1,700 locations worldwide.

Visit Denny’s at the Robinson’s Galleria Mall on General Maxilom Ave. in Cebu City.
