Craving for: ArmyNavy’s adobo flakes burrito

In a low and slow manner, ArmyNavy is rolling out its new line of burritos inspired by our favorite dishes. They’re calling it the Philippine Island Burritos and when it’s all said and done, there will be three variants in all— four if we’re lucky.

The Adobo Flakes Burrito (PHP175) is the first to be launched. It’s a fat blunt comprised of tasty adobo flakes, rice and egg. The first thing that hit us about this dish? We never imagined eating a proper adobo meal could be this easy.

The adobo flavor is so there. The vinegar and pepper tastes are quite punchy, which is good because the adobo flakes are rather chunky in size, and also because there’s rice. The inclusion of egg was a wildcard, but considering ArmyNavy’s growing reputation as drunken panghimagas food, we suppose that’s a good thing.

Following the adobo flakes, is the sisig flavor, which we feel is rather late on ArmyNavy’s end, as there are already several Fil-Mexican joints serving that variant. Completing the planned triumvirate is the tocino flavor.

ArmyNavy says they’re contemplating on serving a tapa variant, but we’ll have to wait for that. Watch this space.
