It’s time to put your money where your mouth is, yo.

The first installment of Chefs for Peace is a chance for you to help — in deed, not in words — the orphaned families of the 44 members of the elite Philippine National Police Special Action Force who died in a botched-up encounter with the Moro Islamic Liberation Front in Mamasapano, Maguindanao, on January 25.

The rules are simple: four celebrity chefs will prepare four courses with partner restaurants. “There will be no speeches, no fanfare, just simple delicious food meant to be enjoyed and shared in the name of peace,” says the invitation.

The dinner series will kick off on February 25, 7pm, at Estancia Mall in Pasig City and will see chefs Sau del Rosario, Jackie Laudico, Tatung Sarthou and one more (to be confirmed). The event can accommodate 100 guests.

More chefs will be participating in the next Chefs for Peace installments.

Dinner will cost PHP1,044 and all proceeds will be donated to the families of the 44 heroes.

Chefs for Peace, Feb 25, 7pm at Estancia Mall (Capital Commons, Meralco Avenue, Pasig City). To reserve call X046 Heritage Bistro at +63 2 5321632.
